This card shows you the Tsarevich Aleksej Nikolajevich of Russia, descended of the Romanov House, as a child. Aleksej was born in 1904, august 12th. His mother was the Russian Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna, born as Princess of Hesse and of Rhine. She was a granddaughter of Queen Viktoria. Aleksej's father was the Russian Tsar Nicholas II Alexandrovich, which was the eldest son of the Russian Tsar Alexander III. Tsarevich Aleksej Nikolajevich had four elder sisters: Olga, Tatjana, Maria and Anastasia. The Tsarevich had a very delicate constitution, and he suffered at a blood illness. His parents permanent worried about his well-being, so they naturally were very forbearing with his education. As a result of the Bolshevist revolution Tsarevich Aleksej was murdered -together with his whole family- in 1918, july 16th in Ekaterinburg (Russia).
